Charles is Head of Travers Smith's Specialty Finance team and co-heads the Fund Finance team. He specialises in specialty finance, fund finance, corporate lending, and general banking matters acting for financial institutions, private equity sponsors, investors and borrowers.
Charles represents lenders and borrowers on complex and highly structured transactions, predominantly in the specialty finance, warehouse lending and fund finance spaces. He has a well-established lender practice advising on a number of different financings including in relation to facilities made available to financial institutions, funds and corporate borrowers.
Charles also has particular expertise in specialty finance and forward flow arrangements. He has advised lenders, borrowers, servicers, account banks, originators, purchasers and other parties on transactions across a range of sectors in this space including debt purchase, non-performing loans, mortgage-backed lending, unsecured consumer credit, asset finance, auto loans, debt collection and payment systems.
As an internationally recognised name in the fund finance space, Charles sits on the Fund Finance Association's Content Committee and is a regular speaker and author on the topic. He most recently presented at the Fund Finance Association's Global Market Update. Charles is ranked in the Spotlight Table on Fund Finance by Chambers and Partners UK 2021.
Ganesh has 25+ years experience in the credit and asset-/ mortgage-backed markets, gained primarily within the investment banking industry. Prior to co-founding Integer Advisors, he led the fixed income credit and securitized product strategy team at RBS in London for 7 years. Before joining RBS in 2010, Ganesh was at Henderson Global Investors where, as the Head of Advisory, he spearheaded the effort to provide solutions to third-party holders of structured credit risk in the immediate aftermath of the financial crisis. From 2001 until beginning of 2009, he led the securitization research team at Deutsche Bank, serving as Managing Director in the Global Markets Research group. Ganesh joined Deutsche from Merrill Lynch where he spent his early career.
Michael is an investor and structurer with more than 20 years’ securitisation experience. At the British Business Bank, he has developed and now leads a broad range of structured guarantee and investment activities supporting close to £10bn of lending to UK smaller businesses. His recent work has included opening UK challenger-bank transactions to third-party SRT investors and expanding the Bank’s activities from private securitisation and speciality finance into the public ABS market. Before joining the Bank, Michael worked at institutions including the European Investment Fund and S&P, across a wide range of asset classes and jurisdictions
Uma Rajah is the Co-Founder and CEO of CapitalRise, a specialist lender focused on development and bridging finance for high-end property projects.
With over 18 years of FinTech experience, Uma founded the business alongside the prime real estate developers behind Finchatton and Valouran. Together, the team has so far lent against over £1.2bn of property assets – predominantly in London and the South East.
CapitalRise was launched to address the long‑standing funding gap in the prime sector, where experienced borrowers were routinely underserved by slow, traditional institutions. The company provides a fast, flexible and tech‑enabled alternative, built on deep sector expertise, rigorous underwriting, and strong engagement with experienced brokers and borrowers.
Under Uma’s leadership, CapitalRise has originated around £600m of loans across prime postcodes and continues to expand its capacity through new funding lines and lending products, supporting the growing demand for high‑quality, bespoke finance solutions.
