Leslie Plaskon serves as a global co-leader of the firm’s Global Finance practice and is a member of the firm's Executive Committee. Leslie represents alternative lenders, investors, hedge funds, traditional banks, and investment banks, as well as borrowers and sponsors. She specifically focuses her practice on complex finance transactions, cross-border matters, and intercreditor arrangements, including asset-based and cash flow facilities, first lien and second lien transactions, split collateral, unitranches, and “FILO” facilities. Leslie has extensive experience with distressed situations, debt restructurings, and bankruptcy matters, including debtor-in-possession and exit financing facilities, exchange offers, restructuring support agreements, credit bid arrangements, 363 sales, and Chapter 11 plans. She has advised banks, agents, direct and specialty lenders, investors, and steering committees in Chapter 11 cases, out-of-court restructurings, and workouts.
Leslie has been recognized in Chambers USA for New York Banking & Finance (2025). She was shortlisted as the “Structured Finance Lawyer of the Year” at the 2024 Women in Business Law Americas Awards and was recognized in The Secured Lender's March 2023 issue of “Women in Secured Finance.” She has been profiled in ABF Journal’s 2021 inaugural “Top Women in Asset-Based Lending” feature, which highlights the career paths of the most influential and innovative women in the industry. She has been recognized as a “visionary in strategy and forward planning” by Legal 500, and has also been recognized as Highly Regarded by IFLR 1000.
Mehdi has been at L&G for over 10 years with experience working in UK, European and North America regions. Over the past few years he has led several new asset initiatives for the UK and US balance sheet leading to the creation of innovative funding solutions and structuring of assets into debt and equity (with a focus in real estate, digital infrastructure and clean energy), examples include long lease commercial properties, residential real estate , Energy Infrastructure assets and Esoteric ABS assets. The solutions have helped increase profitability and boosted L&G's competitive advantage winning over $5 billion new business. Over the past few months, he has led efforts to increasing the investment universe of securitized credit such as data centers, fiber, rail car and container ABS closing over $100m of transactions for the US balance sheet.
He is a qualified Investment & Finance Actuary, Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary and member of the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investments. Mehdi also Chairs the Infrastructure task form part of the Fixed Income Investors Network (FIIN).
Prior to L&G, he worked at BP in the Credit and Market risk teams and has experience trading financial products such as FX, Index and Fixed Income futures.
Melissa joined Insight in January 2015 following BNY Mellon’s acquisition of Cutwater Asset Management, where she had been a member of the investment team since 2008. Prior to Cutwater, Melissa was part of the Global Structured Finance Group at MBIA Insurance Corporation, where she structured and analyzed a wide range of asset-backed transactions. Earlier in her career, she worked as a senior credit analyst at CITIC Bank’s trade finance division, specializing in underwriting Letters of Credit for multinational clients.
Melissa holds an MA from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Yale University. She is also a CFA charterholder.
Pramit Mukherjee is a Managing Director, Insurance Client Solutions, for SLC Management. His role focuses on developing capital efficient investment solutions for insurers across structured finance, private credit and real estate mortgage investments.
Pramit has over 15 years of experience in asset management. Prior to joining the firm, he was Senior Director, Investments, at Legal and General America (L&G), and managed U.S. pension risk transfer (PRT) and protection portfolios. He led research on new asset classes and executed investment strategies and structuring across multiple regulatory jurisdictions and models, including Risk-Based Capital (RBC), Bermuda Solvency Capital Requirement (BCSR) and Solvency II. He has additional experience from major investment management firms including investment evaluation, due diligence and portfolio management across a variety of asset classes.
Pramit has a Master of Business Administration with distinction from the Stern School of Business at New York University. He graduated magna cum laude from the Indian Institute of Technology with a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. He is also a Board member of the Fixed Income Investor Network by the Financial Times Live (FT Live).
